HP Mini 1199eo - Need recovery win XP image for my HP mini

Hi,  I have bought a new HP mini 1199eo some time ago and it will not start up. And need to recover the windows XP operating system. But it did not came with any CD.

Is it possible to download an HP windows XP image anywere or can you, HP, send me a CD that I can use on an external cd-drive?

HP recovery media is not available for download for any PC.

You can see if you can order recovery disks from HP by reading the info at the link below.

I have checked the link, thank you, but it seems like there are no recovery downloads for my HP Mini and not other HP Mini's either. Can that be true? The computer is only a few years old, and it came with no CD. So now I have downloaded an image of the HP MIE and installed it using a USB key. But it is so far from windows and does not for me.

So what can I do to get an image of windows XP or windows 7 to this computer?

If HP doesn't have recovery disks for your PC, then you can see if this place does for anywhere, but the USA/Canada

Otherwise you will have to buy either a retail or oem version of windows 7. XP is no longer for sale by Microsoft.

Thank you. That is so close to what I need. You have linked to a recovery kit for windows 7, but my original was with windows XP, so I guess I can only use the win XP version, right?

I guess you can ask them if they have a recovery disk set for XP, but the windows 7 recovery disk set should work for your model anyway.
