HP Pavilion dv9700 System Restore/Recovery Disc Problems

Okay so I tried doing a system restore on a HP Pavilion dv9700 that I got recently. I did not have a recovery disc, so I ordered one from HP and even called HP customer care about it. Now my HP recovery disc came in and whenever I started up the HP recovery, an error message appeared and now there's just a black screen on my laptop and the system recovery disc does not seem to work.

Earlier it would say something like BOOT_MNGR could not be found, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to restart.

Now instead of saying that it justs  says  _

Enter BIOS setup by tapping/holding the F10 key immediately after powering on the laptop.Use Diagnostics to test your hdd.If it passes try Recovery again.

Alternative:

Scroll down on the page and get Partition Wizard Bootable CD ISO and ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd and boot from it. Use the 'Surface Test". You can also delete partitions, create one and format. Next try booting from Recovery again.
