HP Probook 4530s-F11 Recovery Not Working Solved.!!!!

Hello Everyone,

First of all i am not really good at English and not a guru on the field of computers but i know many of you are having this problem and i really had about a week of getting around this and its looks quiet very simple in solving this problem really, although it took me somedays.I have an Hp Probook 4530s and recently and to me being stupid,i fomatted my drive C: and installed Windows 7 Ultimate, but then after this i wanted to come back to recover my laptop to the factory by using f11 as we all know, but it wouldnt work.I know many people have this problem.

Now this is what i did.

First, check if you have your recovery partition on the computer. It is normally named Hp_Recovery and uses the :smileyvery-happy:.If you have it,then go to start, right click Computer, manage, then to disk management. Now Check the disk type if all is set to basic or dynamic. If your disk type is set to dynamic, then that is where you have the problem of using the f11 to recover your computer.f11 will never work if you have your disk type set to dynamic.

Now, download this great tool http://www.uploadstation.com/file/8TzQfaC , which is going to do a massive job for you by changing the dynamic type of disk to the basic type of disk without loosing any of your Data.(It worked for me without backing up my data)Run the program after installing and put the keys in for a full version. Now,right click the disk and click covert dynamic disk to basic disk and click apply on far top left corner and follow instructions. The program may ask to complete the task by restarting your computer, click restart. It is that simple and i know everyone can get around this.

Now restart your computer, boot to windows and go to start, right click manage and disk management to see if the dynamic disk is changed to basic disk.If it has, then you are through. Now restart your computer and try f11 again. And it should work this time.

 Hope this helps.

Re: HP Probook 4530s-F11 Recovery Not Working Solved.!!!!

I followed the same procedure as you explained here. So then machine was restarted to apply the chages to the HDD. Then at the startup processed some operations and after restarting, an error was occured saying that no boot device. So, actully i lost my all data including recovery partiotions as well.

Can anybody suggest me, how can I recover my original OS? Is there any way to request them from HP?

Hello
Do not panic, your recovery is still there. The problem you have is only drive C not your other drives.I am not sure how you went about the operation. It should have work without giving you any problem.Try and find any windows 7 disc and just do a fresh windwows installation or do a repair .It should resolve problem on Drive C only. When you get through this, then just check your drives again to see the dynamic disk problem. If its still dynamic read carefully again and do the operation again.Let me know how it went for you.

Good Luck!

Re: HP Probook 4530s-F11 Recovery Not Working Solved.!!!!

Hello,

Actully it was a disaster for me. I have tried to repaire my windows installation. But it didn't work. Hence, I was trying to install windows again with an another DVD.

Then only I realised that, there is only one partition remaining and all others were deleted. Unfortunately, that remaining one was one of empty partition not the Recovery partition.

I'm sure I have followed every thing as you mentioned here. I downloaded that software and there was only one action have to be done and that was "Change HDD dynamic to basic". I perfomed it and press apply. Then asked to restart and I press to restart. That is what I have done.

Initially, my HDD was having 3 partition as HP_RECOVERY, HP_TOOL and C drive. Then I have broken the C drive in to Three partition. After that, altogether there was 5 partition. I'm afraid that was the cause to error in my case. Since many partition.

Do you have any idea about it?

Is there any way to built Recovery Partition again may be with connecting same type of another machine?

Any way, I'm sad to say that is, what was happening to me.

Thank You.
