Or, please, just give us the name of the software. We can find it from the name. I know of a few free versions of paid softare that claim to be able to change a disc from dynamic without destroying data. Maybe your suggestion was one of those.

I noticed that when I wanted to add a data partition to the hard drive using Windows, it said the disc would have to become dynamic. I guess that is how people are getting a dynamic disc.
I wonder if that recovery partition can be moved and still work? Or does that partition have to start at a particular sector in order to be found by the HP BiOS?
I have other disc partitioning software and I know I can repartition the disc without migrating to a dynamic journaling Windows scheme. I am still trying to find out if I can move the hp_recovery and hp_tool partitions and still keep them working.
When I buy a new notebook, I donate mine to our church. I'd like to keep the recovery systems intact.

Unfortunately i am facing the same problem of restoring the HP Probook 4530S to factyory restore settings. However the link you have mentioned have been removed from the website due to copyright issue .
Would you please share some other site from where i may download this tool to convert hard disk type to basic from dynamic.?. Please help. Thanks.

Hi,
I had the same problem. I have HP Probook 4530s and I just created new partion using partition master and it converted the basic partions to dynamic. Now I want to resotre the OS to it original factory settings but F11 is not working. Please help me.
The link which you mentioned to get software for converting dyanamic to basic is not working, please upload it again and share the link. Thanks.

The software he has linked was MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition v.6.0
I hope you can easily find it from internet

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for your help. Now the disk type is changed back to basic. But i am unable to use f11 function at the start up
. HP_Recovery drive is present on my notebook 4530s but i am unable to lauch it. Please help me in this regard. How i can run this utility and restore my notebook to factory default settings. Thanks.

Dear Brothers,
I made a partition of C drive and made a new Drive D. Hard disk type changed to dynamic. Now i have successfully changed hard disk type to basic. Can any one tell me the procedure to revert the partition and combine C & D again and then may be i will be able to use F11 function to restore my laptop to factory default settings.?? looking forward for your expert opinion in this regard. Thanks.
