HP Probook 6570b
Windows 8.1

Hi

I have juast bought a second user HP Probook 6570b off ebay and I need to change some BIOS settings but unfortunately the laptop has a BIOS password. Have looked for solutions but none have proved fruitful yet. I have also contacted seller but he is not aware of the password.

Any ideas?

There are no master password generators for ProBooks or EliteBooks and most business class laptops.

If you can boot and still access a Windows OS try this first.

1. HP BIOS Configuration Utility.

 User guide here.

 If not then try this.

 2. Contact HP.

 3. Or look at this link.

Mazzif’s program will detect your UUID, Serial Number and model number then use that information to produce an .exe file to clear the password.

If you find it to be too technical then.

4. Replace the BIOS chip.

If you have good soldering skills order the BIOS chip. You will receive a picture of the chips location after purchase.

Hi REO51ST,

Thanks for this quick reply.

As for 1. I did try this but in order to reset using this method you appear to need the old password.

As for 2. that page does not exist for me.

As for 3. I had found this and unfortunately the 6570b is not supported by his tool.

As for 4. I guess this is my last resort, but I was trying to avoid this!

Thanks

Tony

As for 1. I had already tried this but it appears that you need the old password to use this.

As for 2. this link does not appear to exist for me.

As for 3. already looked at this and the 6570b is not supported by this tool.

As for 4. this would be my very last resort.

Thanks anyway for your suggestions!

Best Regards

Tony
