hey, i got a really urgent question here.
I want to convert my one (and only) hard drive from MBR to GPT. Since my OS (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) is installed on that drive, I created a set of recovery disks using the HP Recovery Manager and backed up my data. After converting the drive to GPT and partitioning it, I went on to restore the OS. But before the restoration began, it said it would format my drive.
My question is:
Will the partitions in the hard drive be deleted/reset? (I dont want it to be reset)
Will my hard drive change back to MBR?
My laptop is the HP Pavilion dv6-6001tx notebook.

If you run a recovery then the drive will be reset and change back to the default MBR. The only way to do it would be to use a retail copy of the OS.
