Re: LOST recovery disk

Hi,

There may be a work around if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.

If you don't have access to a retail disc, you can create an installation disc yourself - just download the correct Disc Image from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD.

Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the underside of your notebook when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

Any additional drivers you may need can be found starting Here.

Regards,

Re: LOST recovery disk

hi mr davidpk.

Thanks a lot for de idea.
I checked around here
http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-link...
But they see, not to have my retail version [win7 ultimate 32bit].
I have de imburndisk utility now can be lot useful I guess.
Can lightscribe utility [found in driver download page]
Do same job as IMBURN?
More so de trial versions in de download link are above 2gig I I wil need my first salary to pay for dat data.
Maybe I will explore your first option.
Thanks again.

[ Edited ]

Hi,

You're welcome.  As long as this version of Windows is what your notebook originally came with, if you can just borrow a retail Windows Ultimate 32bit installation disc for about an hour, that should be long enough to get the installation out of the way - then just activate it using the 'Phone Method' described previously.

Lightscribe installer is Here.

Re: LOST recovery disk

Hi,

You're welcome :smileyhappy:

You're best option, once you have Windows reinstalled and Activated, is to use the Disk Image facility that comes with the operating system - this will then allow you to reload the OS should you need to do this again.  Please see the link below for a full guide on this procedure.
