Laptop Crashed and HDD is changed

Hello, I recenly bought my friends laptop and the problem is he has changed the harddisk of the laptop now when i installed a software the windows crashed. Now i don;t have any cd i don't know what to do ?

Recovery is also not working because it cannot find the backup drive ? can any one help plz

I would order a set of recovery disks for the PC if they are available.
