MBR accdently deleted

I have an HP Pavilion DV7-2173cl. It is running Win 7- 64 bit /upgrade from Vista

I was trying to get rid of Trojan:smileyvery-happy:OS/Alureon.E and accdently deletad my master boot record.

I have the 3 recovery disks I made when first getting laptop and Vista disks but cannot get anythig to boot from
CD.

Memory and hard disk tests passed.

Somtimes it says boot device is milling and and sometimes it says no operating syustem installed?

Re: MBR accdently deleted

Hi Gary,

This may help with the MBR.

Here are a couple of links for that MBR fix to help you along:

sevenforums - Windows 7 - Fix MBR

The discussion includes graphics to help illustrate the "how to" and links to other tools to help with the recovery of the MBR.

The following document is also mentioned as a source:

Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment – Repair Startup Issues - MBR

Good Luck!
