My laptop G72, HAS A BLACK SCREAN I CANT SEE ANYTHING IT IS BLACK.

I have a black screan.. All I did was cut my pc on. It is a laptop G72 , I can hold it a ceartian way and see something on the black screan looks like it is way back there. I cant make out what it is.  I have only used this laptop about 120 times in over a year.  I know I will never buy another HP.. Not happy at all. Maybe if it gets fixed I will like it. But I paid a lot of money 4 this PC and it not last no longer than this. PLEASE HELP ME FIND OUT HOW TO GET IT WORKING AGAIN.   PLEASE.... KITKAT6

Same problem and after following the all the suggest troubleshooting steps still not able to get beyond the black screen although I do hear the fan running.  I suspect a design flaw given the many users experiencing similar issues.  Perhaps a graphic video card issue requiring the entire motherboard to be replaced is what I'm being told.  The notebook does get very hot even when running with a cooling fan...again I suspect a design flaw.
