I currently am running on a HP g62-a46se model.
Due to Certain Problems that i ran into, i removed the entire OS along with the HP Recovery Partition (i think cause i dont know what happend) and everything else on the HDD so now the HDD is completely blank. I have made backup discs but when i run them they say "This Recovery Media cannot be used on this PC".
Pls Help. as i have no clue as to how to restore the machine to factory condition...

Please identify your notebook with its product name.
Remove the main battery and look in the battery compartment for the p/n and post it here.
How to locate the product name.

According to the page the recovery preocess fails only if interupt the power supply or click some particular keys but for me the recovery process doesn't even begin. It simply states that the Recovery media isnt meant to be used on this computer even though it was originally created on this machine to begin with..
Plus, As of now my HDD is wiped clean so there is no other route than a external recovery media such as the recovery disc.

Still within warranty (standard is one year)?
When you do get this resolved, be sure and create an image of the hard disk (including all partitions). That is always my plan B.
With my dv7-4180ea HP product loan, I have verified that the recovery media works, but I still used Macrium Reflect to create a snapshot of the entire disk.

If your no was in reference to warranty, then you have three means of resolving this.
Purchase a recovery media set from HP or a HP partner. That is the inexpensive way.
The expensive way is to purchase a supported Microsoft Windows operating system install disk.
Install a free distribution of Linux. It doesn't get any cheaper than this. Download it and use it for free.
