To whom it may concern
My notebook is HP probook 4520 with windows 7 operating system. Unforthanately, it does not load and I get these errors, when I run HP test in hard dirve Test:
Product ID is : XT988UT
Yesterday I installed Microsoft Visio 2007 and then it performed very slowly. I coud not restart normally.
I tried to repair it, but after several hours, I get hard disk error.
"Hard disk error
Short DST Failed
Run in failed
Start up Failed"
I do not have access to my sensetive information which is stored in this Laptop and I do not have backup, Please give me a solution if you have.
Sincerely

The results of the test that you posted are indicative of a hard disk failure requiring a hard disk replacement and recovery to a factory image.
There are no easy solutions for this issue. There is never a better plan B than having a backup or an disk image. Sorry I cannot give you a pleasant resolution for this.
Is your notebook still in warranty?
Hard drives are replaceable items when under warranty .

Remove the hdd and connect it to a> USB Adapter to plug into another machine via usb port to try to retrieve files. I use one of these frequently when working on machines

I have replaced crashed hard with another one, now I have access only drive D where some system files were stored on old hard, and drive C does not open and it needs to format. Now I do not have its original windows 7 and VGA driver, but I have microsoft product key .What can be done to install its windows with having its product key which is written under laptop's body.
Is it possible to install windows 7 64 bit, instead of 32 bit , with upgardaing 2 gig RAM into 6 gig RAM.beacuse its original windows was 32 bit with 2 gig RAM befor crashing.
