Re: Unable to System Recovery on DV7 -6165us

Hi,

Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages and also with the full version of the operating system you're trying to reinstall.

Regards,

Re: Unable to System Recovery on DV7 -6165us

I also have a hp dv7 and recently I got a virus I believe. Every time my computer would come on it would say, windows has encounted a critical error and will restart in 60 secs, and it did, over and over. So i decided to do a system recovery by pressing f11 and it went through every step but go to the end and said recovery incomeplete? So now i have no idea what to do. The only thing i can think of is when it says please make sure wireless button is on before you proceed with recovery, I cant get my to come on, It will come on after it says recovery has failed but thats it. Can anyone help?
