Unable to boot up my netbook with / win 7: error code: status 0xc000000f

Hi, 

I have a mini 110-1133nr netbook w/win 7. I brought the recovery disc from hp and I have to use an external drive to run the recovery disc.  The recovery disc wasn't able to run at all.  I had changed the boot sequence for the usb frist then hard drive.  But I had this error code: INFO the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. status: 0xc000000f.  Need help.. Thank You in advance!

Make and model of external drive?

My external dvd drive is a old sony drx-700ul.  Thx!

You have to set the PC to boot from the usb drive, with the drive connected and the first recovery disc inserted, power up the notebook and hit F9 repeatedly to get the advanced boot menu, select the external usb drive as the boot device and hit enter, see if recovery starts.

I would try a different dvd drive.
