I have had to reload XP Pro on my Compact V2000 and did not have the drivers for this computer. I would love to find the drivers to load back on this old computer.

Hi, Keith:
Can you post your product number which is found on the same sticker as the serial #?
Then I will send you the link to your PC's support and driver page.
As you can see from the link below, there are many variations of the V2000.

Right below the serial # is the PN number which is EC190UA#BA. I hope this is correct. There is some more numbers.. But I do not have a cd for this computer. I bought it from Circuit City back in 2006.
Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

Hi, Keith:
You have a Compaq Presario V2312US Notebook PC.
Below is the link to the support and driver page for your notebook.

Please go back and edit your post above and remove that windows product key as someone can use it to illegally activate a different installation of Windows.

You're very welcome.
The key has been deleted. It is not visible.
Best regards,
Paul

Hi:
Here is what you need to do, but you will not have Aero as the GMA900 video adapter is not completely windows 7 capable.
Download and run this Vista driver from an HPQ nc6220.
It will error out with a message that states in substance that the operating system is not supported.
Close the error window and go to the device manager.
Under display adapters, click on the Standard VGA Adapter. Click on the Driver tab. Click on the Update driver button.
Select the "Browse My Computer for Software" method of installation and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp34749.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
On reboot you should have decent graphics but no Aero.
