my laptop is HP pavilion g6, and OS is win7.
once the laptop asked me to update bios, and when i think it's finished, i power off the laptop.
since then, almost every time I power on the laptop, it asks me to press F2 to enter "sys diagnosis" mode, and after I execute something like "startup test", which is pretty time consuming, then i can enter the win7 OS.
how to solve this problem?
really apprecitae your advice.
thanks.

Hi,
Try the following.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and remove the Battery.
Follow the procedure on Page 50 of your Maintenance & Service Guide to remove the RTC battery.
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then leave the notebook for a few minutes.
Re-insert the RTC battery, replace the cover etc, insert the Battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.
Has this had any effect?

Not sure RTC is the cause of my problem -- I re-install my system, and until now the problem does not occur.
Thanks a lot!
