What is this Failur ID
This Failure ID you have given it comes for Hard Disck Drive or the Memory test
So either of these Two COmponents in your NB is failed
When the NB is Booting and once you see the HP or Compaq Logo Keep Tapping the ESC key in the KB
You will be taken to the HP Disgnostics Screen
Choose the option F2 system Disgnostics
Run the Hard Drive Test
Run the Memorty Test

HEY, just a note from someone in a similar bind. I copied data off the HD myself. I bought a USB Hard Drive Holder (Newegg about US$9.00). Pulling the drive from my stricken lap top is easy --but be sure to guard against static by touching something metal before pulling it out. You need another computer running the same windows (XP, 7, etc.) but you can go into "users" fodler and get music, words, photos, etc. Now if someone can explain how to reinstall my exiting windows on a brand new HD, I would get this wretched HP beast back to work.

For to install the OS in the New Hard Drive you need a Recovery Disc
You can either order the disc by going to Hp.com----support & Drivers and order Recovery media there
Else You can call HP Support to order Recovery Disc.....If you are in US you can call HP Support at 1800-474-6836
You might need to pay some SHipping charges for the Recovery Disc,,,,,
