hp pavillion dv7 laptop will not start up so cant open disc tray

i was told this was because i needed to do a recovery and as i didnt have original discs or had made any myself i brought some. But now how am i suppose to use them if i cannt open the tray please help

The tray should open once you power on the notebook and then press the tray button.

Hi thanks for reply ive tried but when i press the power on button it literally flickers for a second and goes off spent ages trying to press the disc open button before it flicks off. if you have any other suggestions i would be very grateful

Sounds like a more serious problem if it will not power up and stay on, I suggest taking it to a reputable repair shop for a diagnosis.

Oh dear I'm worried as it was working fine just the connector where the charger went in needed soldering as was loose when I collected it and turned it on it had this problem the repair shop said it was nothing they did which I don't believe but hard to prove so don't know what to do now not a good situation
