i cant recover os to factory using system recovery disk

COMPAQ PRESARIO V6000,  P/N RX943AV, VISTA HOME BASIC OEM.

PRESARIO RP(D) WAS DELETED, USING DISK I WAS ABLE TO GET RECOVER MGR TO OPEN,

BUT WHEN I TRY TO RESET TO ORIGINAL FACTORY SETTING, THE COMPUTER REBOOTS TO THE SAME OLD SETTINGS.

I recommend that you purchase a recovery disk set from HP or an HP Partner.
