Re: i want to make a recovery for lap top, HP Pavilion dv4??

What is it specifically that you want to do?

Do you want to create a recovery disk on a USB stick or create a recovery disk set?

Do you want to clone the hard disk to an external drive?

Either of the following two programs are an excellect choice to accomplish that task.

Macrium Reflect Free Edition

Paragon Backup Free Edition

I don't know which specific dv4 you havesince you have not identified it.

With my dv7-4108ea I would have to press the Esc key as soon as I press the power button and then choose F11 from the menu that appears. Doing that would invoke the Recovery manager and I would choose a factory Image recovery.
