Is you operating system 32 or 64-bits?
64-bit driver from HP
32 & 64-bit driver from Validity, Inc.

I've installed all the hp driver still the same thing, the validity driver says it cannot find specified path, but i remember i have installed it before thats where the action centre directs me to. But i noticed one thing when i want to install the HP simple pass centre, if i read the introductory message where i have information on what i want to install, beside supported devices i see N/A. after the installation if i try to run the programme it says ' programme operator error pls restart computer and try again.if the problem persists please close all programmes and reinstall HP simple pass identity protection.' I've re installed this several times today as well.
The action centre still shows please install fingerprint reader driver, even though i can see the biometric device in the device manager.
Thanks

Hi,
Uninstall current driver and software for the fingerprint reader.
Restart the system.
Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
Download and install the latest driver from here.
Download and install the latest software from here.
Note:
- Restart the system if you will be prompted about it.
- Now all the latest browsers should be supported again.
- Check the manual for HP SimplePass here.

I've done that, i uninstalled the drivers and software like you said, and i have installed the latest ones but my notebook still cant see the biometric device, even thoug it's in the device manager, when i check control panel it says no biometric device installed. The HP pass software installed this time around, i was able to launch it but no option to enroll fingerprints, guess this iI'ves beacuse the biometric device is not seen on the control panel.
Thanks

Check the link below and use Microsoft Fix it:
Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

I've done that as well, still not working, the only thing i noticed that is different is that in the action centre i don't get the message to 'install my fingerprint reader driver'. Asides that it's basically the same thing. Between in the control panel i can see the simple pass as 32bit and my notebook is 32 bit, thought the software supported both?
Thanks again.
