Hi,
It may be that the Recovery Partition has become corrupt, but it may be wise to run the following tests.
Shutdown the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu. Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory. Post back with the details of any error messages.
If the above tests both pass, you can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs and use these to reinstall the OS using the link below.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
Regards,
DP-K

Hi,
A 303 Error indicates that the Hard Drive is failing and will need to be replaced - if you have the option to run a long ( comprehensive ) test on the HDD you could try that but I'm fairly certain that the drive will fail this.
Is your notebook under warranty?
Regards,
DP-K

Hi,
If your notebook is still covered, you will need to contact HP and arrange to have the notebook repaired under warranty.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you find out that your notebook is out of warranty, replacing the Hard Drive yourself is a straight forward and inexpensive process, so let me know if you need a guide on doing this.
Regards,
DP-K

Hi,
No problem.
Can you post back with the full Model No. ( ie dv5-1130ea ) or Part No. of your notebook.
Regards,
DP-K
