This is on a Pavilion g6t-1d00 notebook, Windows 7 64-bit. Trying to create recovery discs, the first 3 went fine, then on disc 4 it stays on the 2nd step, prepare data (4 steps- insert disc, prepare data, burn, verify) at 1% for a while then the following message appears.
"We are experiencing errors in recovery media creation. Please try again." I tried several discs and restarting but same result. A couple of these discs were used on another computer and the recovery creation was successful. The drive burns fine, I made the Windows repair disc.
HP support was great, they are sending me the discs. But it still bothers me that this will not complete. Is my recovery partition corrupt? Or a bug in recovery manager (a slightly newer computer has a different looking recovery manager).
David

Hi David,
I would guess that the problem is more likely to be with the Recovery Media Creator application rather than the partition itself. Also, as HP are sending a replacement set, these will re-create the Recovery Partition if and when you need to use them.
You may want to try the following to see if you can finish creating your own set of discs.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f8 as you start-up to access Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter. Let windows fully load in this mode and then try creating the 4th disc (and any further discs ) again.
To exit Safe Mode, just restart the notebook and Windows will boot as normal.

Hello, DP-K
I did start that method, but once I started the create process, recovery manager would not allow moving forward because it did not know the power situation. The message said I needed to install the battery, of course the battery is in and it was pluged in. Iam not sure which application and or driver needs to be started to accomplish it. No battery icon showing in safe mode as well. Same app??
Thanks,
David
