My dv6-3190sl has a standard keyboard....it's possible to replace it with a backlit keyboard?

the backlite keyboard should have an additional connector for powering the light...i made some searches on internet...and i saw that dv6 motherboard had this connector even if the keyboard is a standard one.

answer me please...

Hi,

This thread is about dv6-3000 series models and you have dv6-2000 series model.

In your model the backlit keyboard can't be installed, because the motherboard has no zif connector for the keyboard light cable.

Hi,

Check Maintenance and Service Guide for dv6-3000 family here.

Spare part numbers for keyboards with backlight you will find on page 38 - 39.

Have you even checked this link? You've got there listed all backlight keyboards for your model.

There is also information that with it will be included keyboard cable and keyboard light cable.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-2173cl. The part listed in the link you provided is not the correct one. I bought it, it is not correct and now I have to return it.

If anyone knows EXACTLY which backlit keyboard is correct for a Pavilion dv6-2173cl, please let me know. I really need a backlit keyboard and don't have the $$$ to replace the whole computer.

Hey then what about the DV6-3217TU Laptop.???
As I visited the HP Service center he told me that my lappy is capable for the up-gradation to Backlit Keyboard as can find the required Keyboard Light connector on the motherboard... But, he didn't mention about the 'zif connector' as may you please elaborate about the zif connector.?? And does my laptop can be upgradable for backlit keyboard.??
