SPECTRE XT RECOVERY

Product Name: Spectre XT 13-2095ca
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My SSD drive has (for the second time) lost all data from the C: partition and, this time, seems to have damaged the X: Recovery partition as well.  Last time I was able to do the recovery from the boot options, but now when I try it it tells me "there is no operating system".  Not even DOS.

I tried using the Recovery USB drive I made, but it goes through the process, which takes some time, and then says there was an error and the recovery failed.

I had a backup of the X: partition on an external hard drive, but I can't boot from the directory or copy it back to the SSD drive.  It copes 4 files and then tells me the disk is full.

I ran a BIOS hardware check on the drive, with no errors found.

I wonder if copying the backed up recovery partition to a USB drive would work?

Is a copy of the recovery partition still available anywhere?  HP no longer supports this computer.

Recovery Media is available to order on your Support page:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-spectre-xt-ultrabook-13-2000/5269325/model/5...

I have doubts Recovery Media ordered is going to work since your own copy fails-something seems terribly wrong with your SSD. The fact of it losing all data for yet a second time and the fact that you can not copy files to it.

If you have previously upgraded to Windows 10 and activated it you can use the free Media Creation Tool provided by MS to make installation media and try to install Windows 10. During the process just skip entering a key and it will activate automatically later when contact is made to MS servers where your hardware id is stored.

Re: SPECTRE XT RECOVERY

That does work. If you're reading it in Canada, I do, you have to go to the appropriate pay to get a Canadian address form. It's best to enter the support Page from the HP Canada link.
