Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am trying to transfer photos from Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge to HP Envy laptop.  The Samsung Galaxy does not have a memory card so all photos and videos are stored in the cloud.  I have tried to follow the directions on this forum, but I have been unsuccessful.  The laptop  shows the phone as a device but will not allow us to transfer the photos from the Samsung phone.  Could you please help me troubleshoot this problem.  Thanks in advance.

Unless Samsung has changed their defaults, photos and videos are stored in the phone's internal file system, not to the cloud.

Also, there is not one single "cloud"; instead, there are many different ones, and which one you use depends on the app you use on the phone.

For example, when you save contacts, they are stored in the Google "cloud".

I use MyBackupPro to store stuff and it has its own "cloud" which is separate from all the others.

Most likely, you will have to log into the cloud service you use from a Browser on the HP laptop and retrieve the media files that way, as the Android apps on your phone don't run on the laptop.

Good Luck

You should look at Samsung support site for your phone on how to access your pictures on the "Cloud" as hp doesn't support Samsung that is for Samsung to support their devices. Also did you install the Samsung device drier from samsung on your computer so it recognizes the phone? Smart Phone nowdays don't just hook up and go - you must first install their device driver so it connects and recognizes the phone correctly.
