Re: laptop shuts down when i close lid

You can adjust what happens when you close the lid in the advanced power settings.

Re: laptop shuts down when i close lid

What do you change it to? I am connecting it to a docking station (really a replicator) and would like to close the lid but it keeps turning off, even after I set the "what should happen when close lid" setting to nothing?

Thanks.

Re: laptop shuts down when i close lid or press the power button to sleep

I am having problems with my computer shutting down when I either shud the lid or press the power button for it to sleep.  The power light turns orange; then I have to hold down the power button to turn it off completely and turn it back on again.  I checked my advanced power settings and did a "sfc/scannow" on the command prompt; no corrupt files were found.  This began to happen nearly a week after I installed the updates that my HP support assistant suggested.  Any suggestions?
