Install this first.

REBOOT.

 

Then install this.

I have an hp EliteBook 2540p and the pointer is only usable when I plug in a mouse.

When I try to use the Touchpad the pointer disappears off the top of the screen.  

I have checked in Mouse and Touchpad settings and the enabled touchpad is Synaptics TouchStyk V2.0.

Please advise what I can do so that I can use my laptop without a mouse plugged in.
