Re: Connecting HP G61 to Samsung TV

Hi

I'm also having issues. although i didnt view media through hdmi previously i am trying to do it now and it just wont work. I read the manual and have done everything correctly. I also experienced a strange mix up of resolutions and fonts, as well as the sleep function no longer working. Is this a HP or windows thing?

I have a g61laptop working on windows 7 operating system. dont know the specific model as thats all if says is hp g61 notebook pc.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Connecting HP G61 to Samsung TV

Hi, was this ever solved?

I have the same / similar issue thats been unresolved for months now, and keep trying from time to time to see if it has fixed itself.

It seemed as if an overnight Windows 7 Update on one occasion stopped the Laptop being able to connect properly to a Sony TV.

When the VGA cable is now connected, it detects a 'Sony TV' on the other end as can be seen in the 'display settings' part of 'control panel', but whatever ajustments are made to resolution or refresh rate on the lapop or output no combination works - whilst it breifly connects it states 'no sync' on the TV, as it used to, but then whereas it used to duplicate the laptop screen, it now just stays black with 'out of range'.

I tried a different much older laptop (windows XP) with same VGA cable and TV, which worked. So it seems to be a issue software/hardware on the laptop?

Also tried removing the video card drivers and starting again some time ago but this never worked. Also tried rebooting whislt connected, which seems to be some of the advice.

Can't find anything on the web that helps - most guidance is the basic how to connect, resolution etc - i need what if you've tried everything else!

Thanks...
