Hi,
It all depends on what connections your Tv has.
Your notebook has an HDMI Port, so if your Tv has one as well, I would recommend connecting with an HDMI cable. An example of HDMI ports and cable can be seen on the link below.

As per specs of your laptop, your computer has a VGA and HDMI option to connect to an external display or TV

Hi,
With the laptop connected to the Tv with the HDMI cable, hold down the fn key on the notebook and press f4. Use the arrow keys to select 'Projector Only' and hit enter.
Can you see your 'Desktop' on the Tv now?

I am trying to connect my laptop to my tv through a HDMI cord.
I have a Hp Pavilion dv6 - 1245dx Entertainment Notebook PC
I have looked at what other people are trouble shooting and installing and uninstalling driver software. I don't know if I installed different driver software or what; however, the graphics software and chipset are back on my laptop, and I still cannot get my tv to connect. All it says is support unknown or whatever.
Should I uninstall both the chipset and graphics driver software and try to reinstall them and see if that works?
