HDMI audio

Using Window 7 media center I have been unable to get audio from my dv47 to my HDTV. I recorded a show with no problems and it's fine on the computer. When I went to control panel and looked at HDMI settings everything was good. There is a speaker test which worked fine. So I guess windows 7 is not getting the audio to the HDMI output. Any suggestions?

Re: HDMI audio

Did this system ship with Win7 or did you upgrade it?

If you upgraded make sure you have installed a video driver to get the HDMI audio driver installed (the Win7 built-in video driver does not include this).

Also when you want toiuse HDMI you have to change the audio outpot to the HDMI device

Re: HDMI audio

From HP

Check the SW download page for your model on hp.com to get your video driver

Re: HDMI audio

Good Evening - I have a dv6775 Entertainment PC with Windows Vista. When I try watch a Netflix movie online, I can attach my HDMI cable and get the video, but the audio comes through to PC speakers. I can't figure out how to get the audio switched to the television.

This is my first attempt at this forum, so please  excuse me if I haven't done this properly.

Thanks.

Re: HDMI audio

Try this, it works on my PC:

In the Control Panel, select "Sound" by double-clicking it.

Click the "Playback" tab and look for an icon for your television.

Highlight the TV icon and then select "Set Default".  A green checkmark should appear on the TV icon.

You should now hear sound from the TV when your HDMI cable is connected.
