I have an HP USB Hybrid TV Tuner. It seems to work fine on a computer running XP. It does not work with Win 7. When I called HP (in India), they couldn't help me because the Part Number that I read off of the device was incorrect. When I attempted to resolve my problem online, I couldn't get help from HP because the serial number that is printed on the device was not recognized!! It did work for a very short time on Windows 7 but no longer works. It still works on Windows XP.
The S/N is: [text removed for privacy]; The P/N is 488143-001 / #4509 I believe the model number is KS523#ABA (only found on HP's accessories web page. Is anybody able to help me? I purchased the tuner from HP in February 2010. Thanks

I also purchased the HP TV Tuner and it had the wrong serial number and product number printed on the device. After talking to about ten support technicians who seemed to have no clue what they were talking about, I was finally told by a Case Manager that serial numbers do not exist for this product.
Has anyone had success getting this device to work with Windows 7?

If you purchased the device from HPshopping.com the order status showing the part number should still be available at their site in the Order Status section. You can print and fax this to them to verify that you are entitled to support (the device is made by a third-party and it is possible the SN didn't get entered into HP system correctly)
As far as getting the device to work on Windows 7, It does in fact work, I purchased an dv7-4290us (replaced by a dv7-4295us as part of the intel chip recall) with the KS523AA#ABA and the only problems we encountered with the device (actually was With Media Center scanning and finding Channels from the cable company)* which we did eventually get past.
Here's an link at hp.com support/drivers for the device (please verify that the description and picture match your device)
the lookup was via name since their site does not recognize the product number.
*The system and tuner were purchased for a family member so I don't have physical access to the system and tuner but if you need driver versions etc. let me know and I can access the system remotely. One other note the driver above has a 2009 date and our system/tuner were purchased in 2011 so we Did Not us the above driver (rather we used the pre-installed one that came with the device
