I watch TV on a set of "rabbit ears", I can't watch it at all if the computer is on - the signal goes completely dead. It does not matter if I have the built-in wireless turned on or off, or whether the battery charger is plugged in or not. I can't even use he Hauppauge USB ATSC-01 tv tuner I' got for traveling, with it's built-in antenna or an amplified USB-powered antenna, or the "rabbit ears" (which are also amplified).
What gives???

Wild guess. The power supply in your laptop is emitting electronic noise. It does anyway, but it should be taken care of. Could be something simple like a lifted ground connection or a bad bypass capacitor.
Also maybe a shield has lost its connection to ground.

I have the same problem with my hp notebook. I cannot watch TV unless the notebook is away from the antenna. I have an omnidirectional antenna. The interference makes it not possible to watch channel 13 since the signal of other channels is very strong.
I may look into contacting FCC (Federal Communication Commission) about this apparent deficiency of the hp product.
