Uninstall your present Media Smart with CCleaner and after the uninstallment run its registry cleaner. Shut down the laptop, not restart, and run the registry cleaner again and delete all if it finds more. Repeat this operation as many times as necessary until it finds nothing.

  http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

After all that, download this latest version to the desk top and install it from there. Do not install it from a temporary folder.

 ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49001-49500/sp49489.exe

After installation restart your computer. Load your Blu-ray movie by using the eject button on the DVD/CD drawer and let Media Smart play it automatically.

This is a very new version of Media Smart which I have not tested yet. Please let me know if it works. In the mean time I am going to test it my self.

Tested, my copy of Blu-ray 2012 works good with this version. It takes a while to load, so give it some time.

It has also been reported the if you are running Comodo Firewall, this interferes with Media Smart running properly. It took the full uninstallation of Comodo to correct this issue. Use MalwareBytes.

Also, when you install this version you will get a command prompt window telling you not to close it until the installation is finished.

At the end of the installation several command prompt windows will flash on the screen. Remember to restart your laptop.

No, it's not the same version, I checked and it's not so much the version , but the way I would like you to uninstall your old one.

Don't be insulted by this next suggestion, but you do know that ounce you get to the title you have to use you UP and Down and Enter keys to navigate to the movie.

Ounce it's at play you have to push enter.

Re: My Media Smart only play the title on DV4t-1400

That's normal for the laptop to change to basic view when playing a Blu-ray. Blu-ray's take up a lot of resources and the software automatically changes Windows to basic so there is more ram available for the proper play back of the movie.

You probably need a driver update for your video card. Could you please tell me what version of Vista you are running, 32 or 64 bit and what specific video driver you have ? I am quite sure it's NVIDIA, but I need to know what version it is.

 Example  :  NVIDIA GForce 230M.

To find out go to Control Panel > Device Manager > expand "Display Adapters" and it should list it there.

There is one available on your support page, but I think there is even a better one direct from NVIDIA itself, but I need to have the information I requested to make sure I give you the correct one.
