No Sound when Playing Blu-ray movies on HDTV via HDMI Connection

I have a HDX18 (purchased/built in May 2009) with HL-DT-ST BD-RE GBW-B10N ATA Device made by .  I connect my laptop to my HDTV via a HDMI cable. 

 

Prior to a cyberlink blu-ray update (Sept. 2009), all my blu-ray movies play perfectly on my TV & the sound came from the surround sound system connected to the TV.  Now when I watch a blu-ray movie the sound only comes from the laptop not the TV/surround sound speakers.  However, when I play a DVD the sound with come out of the TV/surround sound speakers.

 

I did the Cyberlink upgrade so I could watch the latest released blu-ray movies.  I uninstalled/reinstalled all software & drivers associated with MediaSmart, IDT, etc with no luck  The problem is the lastest Cyberlink Blu-ray software update because if I do a software recovery of the original MediaSmart program some blu-ray discs with play with sound  others discs indicate I need to update my blu-ray software. 

 

Has anyone else had this problem & found a resolution to it?  I have spent countless hours on the phone with Tech Support with no resolution.  I think I have a bad Blu-ray drive!

download the betadriver on nvidia official site...
