HP Pav. Dv7 LT, Vista 64 bit, SP2
My mediasmart touch media controllers no longer work to increase or decrease volume, though mute works, as does Wireless touch light; my touchpad scroll feature no longer works either, though the light is on & it works as a touchpad like normal. I've downloaded & attempted to install the updated software for the mediasmart, but had "path not found" error messages, so I went back to download & install the original older version 2.2 I believe, but that had same error messages of oath not found, along with permission errors! I'm unable to install any of the update software from HP site for my laptop 
None of the original HP media software has worked on my LT right, from the beginning, I've used other software instead, for writing CD/DVDs & playing media files, etc. My webcam works in Skype, but not in HP software for it, etc. I've been downloading these 231 MB update files all day & getting no resolution or install of these updates.
When I tried opening ANY of the HP mediasmart software from Start Button, it acts like it is starting--the circle cursor goes active--then nothing happens, yet I've never uninstalled the software that was originally setup when I bought this LT, I just haven't used it. HP update hasn't worked in over a year either--it never find any updates! (It "works" or seems to, but never has any results).
