Good Day;

- My Pavilion DV6000 (6520 Entertainment Version) shows as having the TV tuner, but when you click on it it says it is not able to locate.

- If hardware is not installed on the original board can you get an internal version which plugs into the board or is an external one my only option?

- Then if you must get an external HP TV tuner will the HP softwarecurrently installed work to operate the external HP tuner?

- Can I buy a used laptop with the tuner and add it to mine or would the TV tuner be soldered right to the motherboard?

I think Vista has the ability to view devices. From control panel should be able to get to device manager. On my computer (Windows 7) using the device manager list, the tuner is under - sound, video and game controllers. If I click on the tuner a window opens describing the tuner and says it's operating OK. There is a driver tab as well with driver info. See if you can find this to at least check on the hardware. Also check for latest drivers from HP for that model.

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook zd8000, which by now is an old machine, but it works for me.

I would like to watch TV om my computer.

But I am no computer wizard, so I need some assistance.

The computer has a media center, do I need to get an external tv tuner or can I connect the computer directly to TV signal.

If I need external tv tuner, which i compatibal with my comp. If I can connect directly to tv signal, how do I proceed.

Does it matter that I live in Denmark, is the procedure the same, in Europe as in The States.

It seems that the TV standard in your country is DVB-T. I would try a search in your country for a USB TV tuner.  Do you know if you have a built in TV tuner, I suspect not?  Some searches I did found DVB-T tuners that came with an antenna and remote.

According to the computers specs, the TV tuner should be built in, but then again if it's the wrong kind of signal, then it doesn't help.

I will go look for a DVB-T / USB TV-tuner.
