dv7-1448dx Entertainment Notebook PC no internet tv

I just purchased this dv7-1448dx Entertainment Notebook PC a week ago.

I have winVista 64bit.  Updated all drivers.  It has no TV tuner.  I am hardwired to a broadband connection.

I run the HP MediaSmart software, select Internet TV.  It says."Downloading available internet TV content, please wait ...."

It never downloads anything.  It was my understanding that this would download links to content from Nick, Comedy Central, and MTv, which is on the sticker still on the keyboard on my laptop.

How do I get it to download the internet TV content?

Have the exact same problem. I have a dv2-1027ca after I purchased the laptop I ran the hp health care advisor and it told me the updates to download. After I did that the internet tv worked..it was a pretty cool option with alot of old movies and tv shows (thousands) But just as quickly as it started to work it again stopped a couple of weeks later with the exact message you are getting "no internet tv content available wait while downloading". I have contacted HP twice about it but all they do is direct you to the downloads page to update, which | have done several times to no avail. If you find a solution please post.

I have a dv6Z and I have no internet tv either.  I have downloaded and reinstalled the software but nothing.  When it came new it worked and now nothing . .. . .

I had to upgrade to Windows 7 and get tech support to give me the right link for the MediaSmart TV and Internet TV software.  Uninstalled MediaSmart and reinstalled it.

I used to have Internet TV, but no longer.

Does Internet TV work for anyone?

Yes, as I stated above, if you contact HPCustomer service, via the Webchat, they will give you the link for the correct update.  You need to update for it to work.

I had the same issue, what i did was reinstall windows, back to factory settings, as new, this is a pain to do i know, if u transfer ur computer to another computer it's fine, and still have ur files etc or back up.  And hey presto it worked, then i updated it with update with sp42505. All the internet tv channels came through, it is really good, and of course u don't need to use a tv tuner to watch internet TV. Hope it works, but if u don't want to reinstall windows, just update with sp42505, the only reason i needed to reinstall windows, was because i corrupted the HP mediasmart software, with the wrong updates i was putting on, if it says "error definition file lost", ur better off reinstalling windows, because it won't work, no matter what u do, it took me 4 weeks of trial and error to get to the bottom of this, so it was easier for me to reinstall. if it doesn't work, let me know.
