    ............third response to your question.... I don't believe HP Tech support has an inkling of what the problem is with laptops and TV tuners, or they would be able to tell you whether or not you can run with a set-top-box. I've talked with tech support in both the western and eastern hemisphere and believe there's a real gulf between products and product components insofar as their knowledge of such. At the risk of feeling prejudice, for example, I'm wondering how many people in India have set-top-boxes, or if tech support in this hemisphere is into the engineering of laptops that couldn't possibly carry a set-top-box around their travels. That aspect never entered into our communications, and it would be a simple matter to clarify. Could be that not many are buying that aspect, so it hasn't reached upper levels at HP, so they don't need to trickle it down to tech support.

i bought the usb tv tuner and it no longer comesa with ir emitter/blaster. it is not in the manual shipped with product as it is in on-line manual.
