Hello,

I understand this is an old post but I would really appreciate any helpful tips to my issue.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ60, which is showing white screen and nothing else. Thetechnician told me it is a display problem and the CPU is working fine. But it costs a lot to change the display. It is not worth spending that much on an old laptop. What I am tryig is to run it for another 3 months, by when I could afford a new laptop.

How do I connect the laptop to my HD TV so that it can act as the monitor? When I connect, the TV screen shows SIGNAL CABLE . Should I press any keys on the laptop?

( I tried connecting my new laptop(Win8.1) to the same TV with HDMI cable and it immediately started displaying)

Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Ashiq
