I upgraded my HP Compaq nw8440 to Windows 8 but facing few problems. I have all the drivers which I was using on Windows 7 and I installed all but still nothing seems intalled. No Video Card is installed, No Sound Card nor any other device like finger print etc. Moreover few programs like Adobe Photoshop is not running on it. Can you please Help me?

This time, your luck has probably run out.
While I was able to help you get everything to work on W7 which was not supported in your notebook the last time, I think W8 is not going to work.
In any event, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so let's give it a try.
First, download and run the Vista graphics driver. Close out of any errors you may receive.
Go to the device manager and click on the display adapters section to show the Microsoft Basic Display adapter.
Click on that, and then click on the driver tab. Click on update driver. Select the "Browse my computer for software" method, and browse to the installation folder that was created when you ran the file. That will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp43656. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and hopefully, the driver will install.
Do the same thing for the audio driver. Just browse to the different file number.
If the audio driver doesn't install, go to the device manager, be connected to the internet, click on the multimedia audio controller and click on the driver tab, click on update driver and select the automatic search. See if windows update finds a driver that works.
You should try to install the Vista fingerprint driver and see if that works. Try Auto or manual install.
You can try the W8 Protect Tools software from this model and see if it registers your fingerprint.
If none of that works, abandon all hope of getting W8 to work on your PC, and revert to W7.

Hi,
I suspect that you didn't run the upgrade assistant to verify that it would work with Windows 8. Your mobile workstation has not had any operating upgrade driver support since Microsoft Windows Vista.
I am surprised everything worked in Windows 7. I suggest dropping back to Windows 7 since you managed to get everything working. There are no Windows 7 drivers on the HP web support servers as you can see in the image.

Hi,
Your only other option is to try the Vista drivers in compatibility mode. Life is different with Windows 8. There are more older notebooks and desktops that are not compatibility.
There is a limit in bridging the different factors in laptop and desktop generations especially in terms of the chipsets. Yours was a high end mobile workstation back in the day, but not any more.
I still notice you have not made mention in trying the Windows 8 upgrade assistant. 😉
