I have an HP Pavilion dv6-6124ca notebook, running Windows 8. I'm unable to get my graphics driver to work. Have tried all 3 drivers available from the HP site for my notebook model. They install fine, but when the computer is restarted, under Device Manager the yellow alert reappers, with a Code 43 (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems).
There is also another yellow alert for an "Unknown Device", under the Other Devices heading. No idea what device that is so I don't know what to install/how to fix that. Might be related, might not be.
Problem started when I reformatted and reinstalled my old Windows 7. Not a single problem before then, but afterwards, no drivers will work. Even tried old drivers from AMD's site, nothing. Reformatted and installed Windows 8, exact same problem.

Did you try running the Mobility Radeon Driver Verification Tool?
When you have an HP notebook with all AMD hardware, that normally will scan your PC and provide the driver you need.
The unknown device is not related to the graphics.
Please click on the unknown device and post the hardware ID for it.
If you do not know where to find that info, please use the guide at the link below.

"ATI Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer.
Your computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter"
I've been scouring the internet for a month trying to find a fix, tried this before but couldnt remember the message it said. But yeah, that's that.
As for Unknown device hardware IDs:

I am surprised that didn't work.
Did you try the Beta driver?
Below is the link to the driver you need for the unknown dev.
See if this graphics driver works. It lists the graphics adapter in your notebook as supported.

You asked for the link to the beta driver, which I provided.
If you are wanting this driver for the hd 6620g graphics, please read the other forum member's response, where he stated the Beta driver didn't work (code 43).
AMD changes the beta drivers often and sometimes they will work, and sometimes not.
It appears from the message you are getting, that they have put a gatekeeper on the beta driver currently, which is preventing it from installing on an incompatible graphics adapter.
