HP 15-f014wm Notebook PC

Product # J2X64UA#AB

Please bare with me for this is a lengthy story.

When I first bought this laptop over a year ago (brand new) it had Windows 8.1 on it.  In July of last year I upgraded to Windows 10 (and all it bugs...LOL ) !!  I lost the function of my Bluetooth function amongst other things.  Since then I have had to reset this computer and upgrade to Windows 10 twice more the last just being a couple days ago.  I have had numerous chats with Microsoft and HP read all kinds of forums found things I hadn't done to try and fix the problem to no avail.

Now this last go round my Bluetooth icon has come back in notifications but is not listed in Device Manager or in Settings.  I have went over to the HP site and gotten the drivers for Bluetooth  (MediaTek Ralink Bluetooth Software plus MediaTek Ralink Wireless LAN Adapter).  This software is on my computer at the present but it just seems to sitting there taking up space.

After installing the software I tried hooking up my phone (which is Bluetooth and using a USB Sync cable) but it would not pick up my device for some reason.

I hope and pray that I can get some information on how to solve this problem !!!

Thanks In Advance !!!!

Hi:

Actually, there is nothing wrong with your PC.

It never came with built in bluetooth which is why it doesn't work.

Below is the link to the product specs page for your model.

If it came with built in bluetooth, that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN Wireless Connectivity specification.

The parts list for your notebook confirms this as it shows it comes with a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bg/n 1x1 WiFi adapter.

That is a single band, wireless card that has no bluetooth networking chip.

If you want bluetooth, the easiest thing to do whould be to purchase an external usb bluetooth adapter.
