EliteBook 8470p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit from Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.  I have an  LG Tone Pro Bluetooth headset that I used to use all the time with Windows 7 and no problems. With Windows 10 when I use them it is very choppy, cuts in and out, stops playing then all I hear is weird noises and then it starts randomly playing the song/audio 30 secs later into it. After all this happens it says they are out of reach (1-2 ft away) then stops playing for a few seconds and all of a sudden resumes playing normally, then BAM it starts the regular routine again. I need help:(

Hi:

Interesting that your notebook has a separate wireless and bluetooth module.

I thought by that time the bluetooth radios were all on the wireless cards.

I checked Broadcom's site and they only have a driver up to W8.1.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try a W10  Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 driver from a newer HP notebook.

I have no idea if it will work or not, because I can't break down the file to see that the contents support the 20702 hardware version.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74543.exe

It could make a bad situation worse, so create a restore point so you can revert back to it if the driver makes things worse.

Hi:

What model wireless network adapter does your notebook have?

I don't see any W10 bluetooth drivers on the 8470p support page, but maybe there is one that can be used from another model notebook or from the hardware manufacturer's website.

If you don't know what model wireless network adapter your notebook has, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.
