Pavilion dv2500
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello Hp community.
i have a problem with my HP PAVILION dv2500 LAPTOP.
a few months ago everything is ok.
it can detect our wifi.
then yesterday i just find out that it cannot detect our home wifi.
i mean my laptop can detect our neighbors wifi. but it cannot detect our own wifi.

i already perform some troubleshooting method.

first thing i did.
is i perform a HARD RESET to my modem.
because i think maybe the ip address of my laptop has been block by my modem.
so after that its the same. it cannot detect our wifi.

second is.
i reformat it to WINDOWS VISTA x64.
but its the same.
it can only detect our neighbors wifi. but our is not.

last thing i did is change the ip address of my laptop.
but it did'nt solve my problem either.

pls help me how to solve this problem.

thank you.
and god bless u all.
more power to the hp team and this site.

please email me or comment here if you have some idea on how to solve my problem.

thank u again and best regards.

Hi @BooJimBoo,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!

I came across your post about the HP Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your Hp Pavilion dv2500 Notebook and issues with the Wireless connecting. Try resetting the router. Unplug the router and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in to make sure it fully resets. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection, if you need it. The section I fell will best help is the  Security key is changed 3. To establish a new connection to the wireless network, go back to the Network Sharing Center window, select Set up a connection to a network.

If this continues I would change the Channel on the router. Routers are capable of communicating to your Notebook on several different channels. You could contact your Internet Provider.

Some say this download will help fix this problem Microsoft Fix it.

Here is a link to help as well.

Please let me know how this goes.

Hey @BooJimBoo,

Glad it is working. If you change the name, it is no longer available to the Notebook. It is like mailing a letter to a different address.

Thanks.
