I HAVE AN HP PAVILION DV-7 1247CL ENTERTAIONMENT NOTEBOOK WITH AMD TURIONX2 PROCESSOR AND VISTA 64 OS. I HAVE A BELKIN N600 DUAL BAND ROUTER. tHE WIRELESS FUNCTION APPEARS TO BE O.K., BUT I CANNOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY. WHEN I GO THRU DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES, THE DIAGNOSTIC TELLS ME I NEED TO UPDATE THE WIFI ADAPTER. HOWEVER I CANNOT FIND ONE ON HP OR MICROSOFT WEBSITES. IS THERE AN UPDATE AVAILABLE?

That link is broken.
Does anyone have a link to an HP site or an Atheros site to download the correct Vista 64 driver for HP p/n 482260-001 that Device Manager is reporting as an Atheros AR5009 802.11 a/g/n WiFi Adapter.
Now I have seen some postings that refer to 482260-001 as an Atheros AR 9280 or AR5BXB92.....
Can Vista get confused about what this card actually is?
The thrid party sites touting "Updated Atheros Drivers" versions beyond the HP supplied 188.8.131.528 in sp50498.exe seem to all have some sort of malware or other red flag issue.
Come on HP & Atheros! Clean this mess up and make the latest drivers available to the people who paid good money for your products. The current situation is not fair.
If 184.108.40.2068 IS the latest driver from Atheros MAKE THIS INFORMATION PUBLIC.
Otherwise you are setting your customers up as hacker fodder. They have nowhere else to go.
