HP Wireless Optical Mouse KU916AA

According to the Data sheet, this mouse enters "sleep" mode after 8 minutes of inactivity. A power saving feature, I suppose. My mouse goes to sleep after about 1-2 minutes and must be re-synced every time it does it. This is a royal pain in the behind. I have requested an answer from HP tech support, TWICE, and so far no answer. I just bought this mouse a week ago and my question is: Is it defective, or is this normal? Goes to sleep too soon! Suggestions?

Thanks

Re: HP Wireless Optical Mouse KU916AA

I gotta agree. The mouse sleeps too quickly and it is too bothersome to wake it up. I'm ready to retun it and get something else.
