Hi
Please click on Start -> Control panel -> Display -> Adjust Brightness at bottom you will find a drag bar Screen Brightness you could change your setting.
Or other shortcut Start in the search box type Display -> Adjust Brightness at bottom you will find a drag bar Screen Brightness you could change your setting.

Easy,
Go to Device Manager, (Computer>[mouse right click]>Manage>Device Manager).
In the category "Display", select your Generic PnP Display and uninstall it, then force windows
to detect hardware changes, througth the computer icon at the window top bar.
After windows notification, saying that your display it's installed again, give it a try with fn+[screen F key].

JP

When I get to the display screen and click "Adjust brightness" I get the screen for Hardware and Sound -> Power Options.
When I try to type Display -> in the search box I get the search function. (I can use this to get Display, but I wind up with the same error).
Is there some way to type the -> in your message to allow the use of the search box to get to Display Brightness?

WOW! Thanks. Nothing I tried fixed the extreme screen brightness until I uninstalled and scanned for hardware changes reinstalling the deleted monitor file. Now the two brightness controls work perfectly, F2 and F3.
Thank you!
