Hi Paul, the help you are providing is amazing & i'm very much hoping you can help me as my computer is driving me crazy.

I think i accidentally deleted something important when i was cleaning up which affects bluetooth & WIFI. I've tried different things based on posts but this looks most hopefull. My bluetooth /wifi light is lit but it doesn't function. I have a hp pavilion dv6 1150tx on windows vista.

errors under device manager/ network adapters:

Microsoft ISATAP adapter #15: hardware ID just shows *isatap , not a code like everyone else. driver key shows {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0045 if of any use

error under device manager / other devices:

Bluetooth Peripheral Device: BTHENUM\{f94065f3-e685-b748-89b8-d5be9119484d}_LOCALMFG&000f

thanks in anticipation

Hi, Myra:

If you deleted a wireless card driver, you will see a Network Controller listed in the device manager with a little yellow ! mark.  You would click on that and post the hardware ID for it, so I can provide the driver you need to install.

If there is nothing like that showing, then unfortunately, there ins't much I can do to help. I have very limited skills (read none) regarding troubleshooting issues where I cannot simply provide a driver to fix the problem like I did above.

So, if you have hardware ID's I can help.

The only other suggestion I can offer (other than backing up your files and doing a complete system recovery), would be to use the system restore utility and pick a restore point date prior to the time you deleted stuff from your PC.

Here is a guide for finding a hardware ID...

Thanks for your help, but I still have an exclamation mark for the Network Controller.
