HP pavilion 523w. It had a severe virus infection and slowed to a crawl. Couldn't run any anti-virus, even from CD. Finally ran the HP recovery and did a partial recovery. It did save all data. After that installed anti-virus and antimalware programs which found almost 300 infected files, mostly trojans. : ( Now it runs just fine but it has lost all 5 user's login information. Comes up as sole user (2 users in safe mode - owner and administrator). Isn't that info somewhere in the computer still? I did use the only restore point available (which was November this year) but it didn't bring back the user info nor the internet connection settings.
It's not my computer (really) and they can set it up if necessary, but better if I can restore the info. It uses XP Home Edition Version 2002. Thanks in advance for any help.
